Rooted in Community
In the past, people with disabilities often had limited opportunities to live included lives in their home communities. Families had few options for support, and many individuals were separated from the places and people they knew.
In Powell River, a group of committed parents believed individuals with disabilities deserved better—lives rooted in community, relationships, and opportunity. Their vision helped show that with the right supports, people can live safely, independently, and meaningfully close to home.
Supporting Independent Living in Our Community
Inclusion Powell River supports individuals with disabilities to live full, meaningful lives in the community. We provide a range of housing and support options designed to promote independence, connection, and choice, including group homes, supported living, and shared homes with single adults or families.
Access to Inclusion Powell River programs generally requires eligibility through Community Living British Columbia (CLBC). Eligibility may include, but is not limited to, a diagnosis of an intellectual disability. CLBC is responsible for determining eligibility and funding for services.
