    • Infant Development Program

    Child and Family

    Infant development program

    Our infant development program is a free, home-visiting program to support families with children aged birth to three years. It is designed to help you promote your child's learning and development -- especially if your child is experiencing or is at risk for developmental delay. 

    One of our trained, experienced professionals will work with you to design a plan to support your baby's physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. 

    This is an in-home program, but we offer a safe space where you can connect with other parents experiencing similar challenges. 

    In this program, you will receive:

    • Developmental screenings and assessments
    • Consultations in your home, our children's center, or other places in the community
    • Daycare visits
    • Parenting and educational resources
    • Weekly playgroups
    • Toy and book lending library
    • Workshops such as Baby Signing and Infant Massage

    Your baby does not require a diagnosis to access our infant development program.

    Referrals can be made by the following:

    • Your family doctor or a nurse practitioner
    • Public health nurse
    • Midwife
    • Childcare provider
    • Counsellor
    • Social Worker
    • You

    This program is free to everyone in Powell River and qathet.
