    • Understanding the Issues That Matter

    Advocacy is a vital part of community inclusion and social change. At inclusion powell river, we believe it’s important to stay informed about the key issues that affect the people we support—from inclusive education and disability rights to housing, employment, and health care.

    Rather than duplicating work already being done by experts in this field, we are proud members of Inclusion BC, a provincial organization dedicated to advocacy, public policy, and systems change. Their work is grounded in the values of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and helps guide our understanding of what inclusion and equity should look like in practice.

    We encourage you to explore Inclusion BC’s Position Statements to learn more about the important issues shaping our sector and the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across BC.
